Printing Services: printing of almost everything in all kinds of qualities and quantities.

Printing Services include printing of a variety of things, like printing brochures, flyers, business cards, leaflets, compliment slips, stickers, menus etc and many other objects. Offset printing is generally used for printing of these. It is more common for printing when the printing has to be done on a large scale. Offset printing is quite better than the other types of printing, as it saves time as well as cost of printing. The offset printing technique involves transferring of inked image from a plate to a rubber blanket. The image is then transferred to printing surface.

Apart from offset printing, there are other types of printing processes which are sued and are popular in the market. These are thermography, engraving, reprographics, digital printing, letterpress, screen, flexography, gravure etc. the screen printing process is used in T Shirts, billboards etc. But the most popular is the offset printing. Here, the quality is decided by the printer himself, and it can be managed as per the requirements of the printed matter. It also depends on the method, expertise and the equipments used for printing.

The simple technique of offset printing involves putting images on plate, and then these are dampened by water. After this, they are dampened by ink. The ink adheres to the image area. This fills colours in the image. The rest of the area, i.e. the non image area is dampened by water. After this, the transferring of image is done. The inked image is transferred to the rubber blanket. This is then transferred to paper. This gives the name ‘offset’ to the process. Here, the image is not directly transferred to the paper. It is first printed on a plate, transferred to rubber blanket, and then finally to paper.

This type of printing services is used for printing these articles, where the printing quality is not very important but the quantity and cost are more important. Offset printing is, thus the cost effective method of printing.

Offset Printing: The conventional and the most cost effective method of printing

Offset Printing is a popular mode of printing, which is the most cost effective, and is useful in high volume printing. It is older, and is more mechanical than the later advanced methods. These days, advancements in these processes have lead to changes in printing as well. It gives high image quality, and can be used on almost all kinds of printing materials. It can be used on paper, wood, cloth, rubber, latex, plastic, leather as well as metals. This gives it an added benefit over the other methods of printing. It is very cost effective in itself, and the costs can be lowered as the quantity of printing goes up. More the volumes, lesser is the cost. For producing prints in large amount, these printing methods are incomparable. There has been more use of computers in the offset printing too, in which computer to plate system is used in place of computer to file. This further helps in improving the quality of the prints.

There is another popular means of printing, which is being increasingly used these days. This is the digital printing, where mechanical steps are eliminated, as well as the need for making films and color proofs is eliminated. It has certain advantages over the previous methods of printing. It has a lesser turn around time, and gives same prints for every print. There are lesser variations, and lesser wastes. For low volume of printing, digital printing is better than the other means, like the offset printing. In fact, it is the best for such small volume printing, since the print quality is good, and these can be printed in very less quantities also. One more benefit is the customization in printing. This method of printing enables customization of individual prints, and thus, provides better options of printing than the conventional ones. Both these methods have their own advantages and benefits over each other, and should be used as per the specific requirements.
